2015 Comic Book Movies

Enjoy your break. This is the easy yar when it comes to blockbuster superhero films. Unlike the coming years, there are only 3 superhero movies. Yes, count them, one, two, three. There are no more and that means that for a change we’ve got a relatively low count of comic book movies. So let’s get into the three movies that we have.

Avengers: Age of Ultron – May 1st, 2015 – Marvel

The follow up to one of the most successful movies in history hits theatres in a little over a month. it’s an exciting prospect to see what the film will bring. However with the excitement is skepticism and rightfully so. This could be a perfectly fine movie, but with a lens hyper focused in on it, the movie may bow under the pressure. If the movie is in fact everything that Whedon has promised we could be in for a great treat very soon as the status quo of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is rattled again and the line up of Avengers changes. Regardless, this movie will be watched my millions, the question will be if it can live up to its predecessor.

Ant-Man – July 17th, 2015 – Marvel

Ant-Man has bee a film that’s been littered with bad luck and criticism. Behind the scenes, this has been the most tumultous Marvel film in the modern Marvel era. That said they do have to controling force of Kevin Feige to right the ship should it go astray. Hopefully, we’ll see a strong showing with this film however, out of all the Marvel films, this is the one that will suffer the most.

Fantastic Four – August 7th, 2015 – Fox

The Fantastic Four is an attempt for Fox to hold onto the rights of the Fantastic Four. Sure, it was a grab, but from the looks of it they are working really hard to make sure that we are receiving a solidly good movie. While the status of the movie as good or bad is unclear. We do know that it is taking a very clear Science Fiction route and may be eschewing some of its comic book nature.

As you may have noticed, all the films coming out this year are Marvel properties. It is an interesting endeavor. Considering that Kingsman: The Secret Service, is a movie made from a comic by Icon (an imprint of Marvel) it is a truly spectacular year for Marvel adaptations.

Which of the films are you most excited for?
